Technical Writer/Team Lead Technical Documentation

About the position 

As a technical writer and team lead, you will be an essential member of the Technical Documentation team. The team's responsibility is to produce, manage, and deliver user documentation in various formats to RaySearch's customers worldwide. The goal is to phrase and explain complex solutions in an easily understandable way. By enabling customers to get the most out of RaySearch's products, the team contributes to the customers' user experience. The team collaborates primarily with the development department, but also with other departments to achieve goals and meet deadlines, and ensuring that product documentation complies with relevant regulatory requirements. 

Your main tasks: 

  • Lead the team in the daily work as well as collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Be responsible for the technical documentation team’s deliveries.  
  • Develop high-quality product manuals in English in close collaboration with the development department, in an agile environment. 
  • Work with modular product documentation and single-sourcing in XML. 
  • Coordinate and manage translations into multiple languages. 

The role offers an opportunity to work with technical documentation for advanced medical software products that are constantly being improved with new functionality. There is also the opportunity to be involved in the continuous evaluation of processes, tools, and working methods. 

Your profile 

You have excellent communication skills, both in your writing and with your colleagues. With strong administrative abilities, you are able to manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel. You take responsibility for your own work and support your colleagues to achieve shared goals. You are flexible and can adjust the plan according to changed circumstances. You have an eye for detail. 

Requirements: 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent 
  • At least five years of experience working with technical documentation 
  • Experience with XML-based content management systems (CMS) and common tools such as Adobe Acrobat 
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written 

Meriting: 

  • Experience of team leadership, project management or similar. 
  • Experience in writing about medical technology products or products in regulated industry. 
  • Proficiency in Swedish.
